Great News!!! On Friday, January 19, 2007, the Wireless Washtenaw Pilot Evaluation Committee (PEC) approved 20/20 Communications Pilots in Ann Arbor, Manchester and Saline. The PEC consisted of representatives from the Washtenaw county ewashtenaw group, City of Ann Arbor, Eastern Michigan University, University of Michigan and several township residents and officials. The approval means 20/20 Communications has met or exceeded all criteria required in the Provider agreement signed on October 13, 2006. 20/20 Communications can now begin the steps necessary for the full build. Even though we have county approval, 20/20 is still testing and adjusting several items in the network, the pilot phase will continue through February.
We at 20/20 would like to thank all participants for their cooperation, feedback and willingness in making the pilots a success.
Last week we mentioned existing and new Pilot participants will receive an email with the Wireless Washtenaw Pilot Agreement. This agreement was previously sent or given to customers as they joined the pilot. Mentioned in the agreement is a $2.00 monthly charge in order to test our billing system. We are currently implementing a billing package and will be notifying pilot participants via email on what to expect.
20/20 Communications was selected by Washtenaw County to provide county wide Wireless Internet access.
The project is currently in the eighth week of the Pilot Phase. The pilot is scheduled through February.
