Siemens continues to perform acceptance testing for the:
• Radios
• Wireless Information Platform (WIP)
• Network Management System (NMS).
This testing is scheduled for completion on November 30, 2006
20/20 Communications representative Bill Lockwood and Southwest Washtenaw Council of Governments representative Ray Berg are currently evaluating and identifying potential pilot participants in the Manchester area. Over 200 people in the surrounding Manchester area contacted us about becoming a member of the pilot. Unfortunately, as this is a test build and not the full network, there are backhaul limitations in Manchester and Saline. Each pilot area is limited to 30 participants. Manchester participants will be selected from the previously mentioned 200 people, the proximity of their household to the pilot radio broadcasting area and the signal strength at their location. During the next week, we will be doing the same for the Saline and Ann Arbor pilots.
20/20 will begin installing customer radios for accepted Manchester pilot participants beginning December 1, 2006. As each radio is installed on a resident's house, the participant will immediately be able to surf the net using the Wireless Washtenaw pilot network. The same will be true of Saline and Ann Arbor pilot users later in the week.
20/20 Communications was selected by Washtenaw County to provide county wide Wireless Internet access.
The project is currently ending the engineering acceptance test phase.
At this time we are looking for potential pilot participants in the Ann Arbor and Saline areas.
If you are interested in becoming a pilot participant in the Ann Arbor and Saline pilot areas, Please contact us at 973-2020, Option 1 and press # to leave your name, address, phone number and email at the tone, or email us at wwinfo@2020comm.com |
