This week, we began installing and configuring the Wireless Integration Platform and the first of the pilot's 40 radios.

The Wireless Integration Platform is commonly referred to as the WIP. It is the heart of the Wireless Washtenaw project. It provides user authentication and connection to the World Wide Web for Wireless Washtenaw users. Completion of the WIP configuration is scheduled for Friday, November 3rd.

Ann Arbor Radio installations. The Ann Arbor Pilot will require 18 radios. We began installing radios in downtown Ann Arbor on Tuesday, October 31. This week we are scheduling two to three radio installations per day. The following week we expect to install 4 per day. The goal is to have all Ann Arbor pilot radios up and running by November 10th. If you're in town. You can see the first three radios atop light poles on Fourth Ave and the corners of Huron, Washington and Liberty. They are grey cylander about a foot and a half tall by a foot wide.

Manchester Radio Installation. We are working with Manchester representatives preparing the Manchester Water Tower for Radio installation. Preparations will take about a week. Radio Installation will begin immediately afterward.

Saline Radio Installation. Like Manchester, we are preparing the designated sites for Radio installation in Saline. Installations will begin immediately afterward.
